Why is Brake Fluid Service important?
The primary reason for a periodic brake fluid flush or brake fluid replacement is the chemical nature of the glycol based braking fluids. These chemicals are hygroscopic & they have a tendency to absorb moisture. With moisture absorption the boiling point of these fluids goes down and the efficiency of braking gets compromised. When the boiling point drops, the brakes don't work properly in high temperature conditions or high braking situations. Fresh brake fluid is clear & if it has absorbed moisture, is denser and less clear. This deterioration of braking fluid quality can be especially detrimental to anti-lock braking systems. There is no way that one can totally stop the entry of moisture into the braking system, as the whole system is exposed to atmosphere through venting. During each opening of the master cylinder, a little moisture is absorbed. However, the process of absorption is slow. If you schedule a regular brake fluid flush, this problem of brake fading, due to moisture absorption can be kept at bay. Brake flushing guarantees that your brakes have a shorter response time.
Why is a Power Steering Service important?
Contaminants can build up and lessen the amount of fluid passing through the valves, or worse, buildup can affect the performance of the valves. This can directly influence the pressure exerted by the power assist and make steering harder. Buildup can also cause a pulsating in the steering system, especially when the wheel is fully turned in one direction or another. Contaminants can accelerate the "wearing effect" of the power steering components and reduce the systems life cycle. As with any hydraulic system, there are a number of critical seals that protect the integrity of the system and assure proper operating pressure. Hydraulic fluids contain additives that prevent the seals from drying out, causing leaks or blowby. Over time these additives break down and lose their conditioning properties. Additives like power steering conditioners are effective in some circumstances, but a total flush with new fluids is the optimum treatment.
Why is an Axle / Differential Service important? Gear oil lubricated differentials are found in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive pick-up trucks and SUV's, as well as in rear wheel drive passenger cars and vans. Complete replacement of the differential fluid extends the differential component life. It provides superior protection especially under extreme conditions such as heavy loads, high temperatures & stop and go driving. The lubricating fluid protects against friction, wear & corrosion.
Why is a Transmission Service important?
Over time deposits begin to form around the transmissions many moving parts, resulting in valves that stick and gears that slip or are sluggish and chatter as they shift. The fluid will turn dark brown from oxidation due to the combination of time and heat. The Granitize transmission service is a complete 3-stage flush. A pre-cleaner is installed in the transmission to clean any varnish and sludge from the valve body and pan. A machine is then hooked to the transmission that exchanges up to 99% of the old fluid. Finally the transmission fluid is treated with a special conditioner that contains antioxidants to help keep your transmission clean.
Why is a Cooling System Service important?
The cooling system’s job is to keep your engine running at a certain temperature. In cold climates, the coolant protects the system against freezing. In hot climates, it allows the system to operate at higher temperatures without boiling. Over time, extreme temperatures take a toll on the coolant and it begins to wear out. When this happens, a chemical breakdown occurs and deposits begin to drop out of the coolant and attach themselves to the inside of the cooling system. When left unserviced, these deposits will restrict the flow of the coolant through the cooling system, plug the radiator and heater core, and eventually lead to overheating. The Granitize service is a 2-stage power flush designed to safely and effectively clean out any blocked passages and chemically treat the coolant to enhance its cooling properties.
Why is a Fuel Injector Flush Cleaning Service important?
As fuel is ignited, the gases can cause carbon build up throughout the engine and exhaust system. Additives by themselves normally clean injectors but leave other components dirty. Our service will clean your injectors, valves, combustion chamber, catalytic convertor,O2 sensors and the cat monitor sensor. This service will provide you better fuel economy and extend the life of your engine.
Why is a Throttle Body Service important?
The throttle body is connected to the gas pedal of a car through a direct linkage. When the gas pedal is depressed, a disc turns inside the Throttle Body, allowing fuel to be dispensed into the engine. Over time, the gases expelled during the combustion process rise up into the throttle body and create a layer of deposits on the inside. This can eventually cause stalling, stuttering and poor fuel economy if the buildup is extensive.
